WHAT IS INTELLIGENCE BUREAU OF INDIA
The Intelligence Bureau (IB) is India's domestic intelligence agency. It was formed in 1947, a year after India's independence, and is responsible for intelligence gathering within the country. The IB is primarily responsible for national security, counter-terrorism, and espionage. It also plays a significant role in maintaining law and order, monitoring political activities, and conducting background checks on government officials and foreign visitors. The IB reports directly to the Prime Minister of India and is considered one of the most important security agencies in the country.
